LONDON - Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur was charged by the FA for failing to control their players in the English Premier League match on Sunday. So says Britain's football governing body on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the second half of the Spurs, who won 2-1 thanks to goals from Harry Kane at 90-- minute following a dispute between the Villa striker Christian Benteke and Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason. Benteke was sent off for pushing Mason's face.
"Both Aston Villa and Tottenham were charged by the FA following their match on Sunday, November 2nd, 2014," the FA said in a statement listed on their official website (www.thefa.com).
"Suspected in or around the 66th minute of the match, the clubs failed to keep his players' behavior in ways that are inappropriate." Both clubs have until 1800 GMT on Monday to respond to the charge.
Tottenham, who host Stoke on Sunday, inhabit ranked eighth with 14 points, four points and eight positions of the visit to the headquarters Villa West Ham United on Saturday while trying to break the sequence of six defeats in the Premier League.
